The Vaka Pasifiki Education Conference will host a series of regional webinars to share some of the Institute of Education evidence based development works in the Pacific region. In this year’s series, IOE will share the learnings and findings from the Leaders and Education Authorities Program (LEAP), Pacific Literacy and Leadership Program (PLSLP) and the Tonga Education Support Activity (TESA). In this year’s series, we will also share findings from the recently completed study Literacy: People and Context.

The sharing of learnings from the LEAP, the PLSLP study and also from the Literacy research work are also part of the PacREF implementation plan, under Policy Area 4; Teacher Professions. There are several countries that have indicated their interest in hearing about the LEAP, PLSLP and also from MFAT about the Literacy: People and Context study. The interested countries included: Fiji, FSM, PNG, RMI, Samoa, and Solomon Islands. Through the PacREF work, we believe that we have a unique opportunity to share the learnings from our collective experiences working through these projects. The high number of countries that have indicated their interest, is an encouragement for all of us.

We have planned for 4 webinar sessions to occur on the 7th, 8th, 14th and 15th of July, 2022. Each session will speak to a particular focus from the three projects, namely, Literacy, Resource Development, School Leadership and our focus on appreciating the context. Each session will be at most 1 hour 30 minutes, with a panel sharing their experiences and invite the participants into talanoa session.
